Tokyo Metropolitan Government Holds Symposium on Earthquake Resistance

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has been strengthening its countermeasures against natural disasters in order to realize a resilient Tokyo Metropolis. In particular, in order to cope with earthquakes directly under the capital, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has been working to reduce the number of utility poles, improve densely wooded areas, and promote earthquake resistance.
On July 1, six months after the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government will hold the "Tokyo Symposium on Earthquake Resistance" as follows, with the aim of having each and every citizen of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government assume the possibility of an earthquake directly under the city and to create momentum for making buildings earthquake resistant.
We hope that this symposium will raise awareness of disaster prevention and the importance of building earthquake resistance. We look forward to your participation.
