◆JAPAN’S HEALING FORESTS (PART 2) Autumn Forests with Colorful Leaves◆
A country with forests covering about 70% of its land area, Japan is also known to the world as the birthplace of “forest bathing.” This issue of Highlighting Japan includes a second feature on “Japan’s Healing Forests,” following an earlier one which appeared in the May 2024 issue. In the opening interview, an authority on the subject explains the charms of Japan’s forests during the autumn foliage season and how to enjoy them. This issue also introduces a selection of the forest bathing sites around Japan that are best for viewing the fall colors. Join us as we visit a plateau with brilliantly colored beech trees, a river in a ravine with pristine waterfalls lined with colorful trees in autumn, and more.
