昭和レトロな雰囲気がブームになっていると聞きます。
若い人の間では既に「昭和時代」と称されているとも。
昭和生まれの私にとっては、「時代」と聞くと少々戸惑いを感じます。
「明治は遠くなりにけり」ではありませんが、昭和も既に遠くなってしまったのでしょうか。
とそんな時、あるテレビ番組の人気遊園地を紹介するコーナーで、若いレポーターさんが「これは一体何でしょうか？」と言いながら近づいていった先にあったもの、「何でしょうかって、これが何だかわからないわけ？」と思わずツッコミを入れた瞬間、まさに「昭和は遠くなりにけり」を実感したのでした。
「何でしょうか」の先にあったのはジュークボックス。
これを読んでおられる方の中にも、「何、それ？」と思った方がいらっしゃるかもしれません。
かつて、温泉旅館のゲームコーナーやボウリング場などには必ずと言っていいほど置いてありました。
一回いくらだったか記憶が定かではありませんが、コインを入れて、好きな曲のボタンを押すと、内蔵のレコード盤が動いて曲が流れる自動演奏装置です。
その番組を見た直後、足立区本木にある1973年開店の「喫茶リアナ」で、40年以上使用できなくなっていたジュークボックスがテレビ番組の企画で蘇り、懐かしいサウンドを響かせているというニュースリリースが回ってきました。
ご存じの方も、そうでない方も、一度昭和時代の雰囲気に浸りにいらしてみてはいかがでしょうか。
なお、こちらの喫茶店では定期的にピアノのミニコンサートも開催されているとのことで、あわせてお楽しみいただければと思います。
