Mitaka City Brass Band [Official Channel].

Mitaka City Brass Band （ The Mitaka Brass Band ／ Takasui ） was founded in 1979 by the merger of the alumni associations of Mitaka Second Middle School ・ and Fourth Middle School. Currently, the group recruits a wide range of members, not limited to specific schools or Mitaka residents, and members of all ages, from junior high school students to those in their 60s, are active in the group. Although subsidized by the Mitaka City Arts and Culture Association, the OB is not a public organization of Mitaka City, but a general brass band run independently by its members. It is also a member of the Tokyo General Band Association.

Since its founding, the "Takaabuki" has been active from the viewpoint of "exploring the musical possibilities of brass band performance by incorporating jazz ・ and pop music into brass band music". This means that we aim to incorporate jazz ・ pop music with strong rhythmic characteristics, and at the same time, to create music with a sense of color, mainly with wind instruments, which is unthinkable in jazz music. Therefore, although we will of course play brass band originals and classical ・ arrangements, our selections are more focused on jazz ・ pop music.
