This beautiful octagonal lighthouse is a replica of the first lighthouse （ which was the second lighthouse in Japan to be lit in 1869 ） and was destroyed by the Great Kanto Earthquake.

The Lighthouse Foundation of Japan has revised its supporting member system to encourage people to become familiar with the lighthouse （ and to feel free to visit the lighthouse ）, We have divided the membership system into two categories, National Supporting Members and Regional Supporting Members, and began accepting applications for membership on June 1, 2022.
If you wish to become a member, please fill out the membership application form in the above Supporting Member Application Guide and send it by mail. You can also apply for membership at the reception desk of each visiting lighthouse.
